Tell Senators: Protect Food Aid for Women and Children

The House of Representatives just passed legislation that cuts $200 million in nutritional assistance for infants, children, and pregnant and postpartum women. 

These drastic cuts would reduce families' fruit and vegetable benefits by about 10% and could force states to turn away eligible families in need for the first time in 30 years.

With grocery prices skyrocketing, Congress is failing families at a time they need the most help. 

We still have time to stop these cuts in the Senate, but we have to act fast. 

Tell the Senate to protect young families' access to food and reject the House's cuts to nutritional benefits. 

If the Senate passes these cuts, over 5 million toddlers, preschoolers, pregnant and postpartum women will get less support to buy the fruits and vegetables they need to stay healthy. 

Breastfeeding mothers will go from receiving $52/month for fruits and vegetables to $13/month and young children will go from $26/month to just $10/month. 

Taking healthy food away from moms and kids who are most at risk for nutritional deficiencies is indefensible.
