Donald Trump is trying to turn taxpayer money into a $1.7 billion payout fund for his political allies — and Congress must stop him. Trump just dropped his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS in exchange for a massive taxpayer-funded “weaponization” compensation fund. The fund will reportedly be used to pay people who claim they were targeted by the Biden administration, including January 6 defendants and potentially entities tied to Trump himself. This is corruption dressed up as victimhood. Trump is effectively suing his own administration, then trying to use the settlement process to funnel public money toward MAGA allies through a process that could keep recipients hidden from the public. Tell Congress: "Stop Trump’s $1.7 billion MAGA slush fund. Block any taxpayer-funded settlement that rewards political allies, hides recipients, or waives accountability for Trump, his family, or his businesses." The IRS leak of Trump’s tax records was real, and the person responsible was prosecuted. But that does not give Trump the right to raid the Treasury, create a secretive payout machine, or use federal settlement powers to reward loyalists who attacked our democracy. If Trump can turn a personal legal claim into a billion-dollar political fund, every future president could try the same thing: pressure agencies they control, manufacture a settlement, and hand public money to friends and allies. Add your name now and demand Congress stop Trump’s MAGA slush fund before taxpayer dollars are used to bankroll political revenge. The petition to Congress reads: "Stop Trump’s $1.7 billion MAGA slush fund. Block any taxpayer-funded settlement that rewards political allies, hides recipients, or waives accountability for Trump, his family, or his businesses."
