We Deserve to Know: Did Elon Musk Violate the Logan Act?

The Logan Act prohibits U.S. citizens from negotiating with foreign governments in dispute with the United States without prior approval — and it’s time the Department of Justice use it to investigate Elon Musk now.

Troubling reports confirm that Elon Musk has had regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the past two years.

Putin himself told Tucker Carlson earlier this year “I think there's no stopping Elon Musk. He will do as he sees fit. Nevertheless, you need to find some common ground with him. Search for ways to persuade him.” It’s time we found out exactly what sort of ‘persuasion’ we’re talking about.

Musk’s actions are not only potentially illegal, but there are growing concerns he’s using his enormous political and social power to jeopardize prospects for peace and justice in Ukraine, Gaza, and beyond. That’s why we deserve to know: Is Elon Musk breaking the law?
