Urgent: Stop the Republican Attack on Voting Rights

Republicans are coming for your right to vote—and they’re not even trying to hide it.

This week, Republicans in Congress are considering changing Senate rules to ram through the so-called SAVE America Act, a sweeping proposal that would make it dramatically harder for millions of eligible Americans to cast a ballot. Backed by Donald Trump, this bill is being fast-tracked as part of a desperate political strategy to cling to power.

Trump is pressuring Republicans to act now because he knows what’s coming: voters are mobilizing, and Democrats are poised to win back the House and Senate this fall. Instead of earning support, Republicans are trying to rewrite the rules of democracy itself.

The SAVE America Act would impose strict new voter ID requirements, restrict absentee and mail-in voting, and potentially upend how ballots are counted—especially for working families, seniors, students, and military voters.

Even more alarming, GOP leaders are openly considering blowing up Senate rules—like the filibuster—to force this bill through. The same politicians who defended the filibuster for years are now ready to scrap it to pass a voter suppression bill.

The bill targets the very methods millions of Americans rely on to vote—especially vote-by-mail, which nearly one-third of voters used in recent elections. It threatens to disenfranchise people who can’t easily vote in person, including rural voters, people with disabilities, and those serving overseas.

Congress must reject this dangerous attack on our democracy and instead protect access to the ballot for every American.

Tell Congress: “Stop the SAVE America Act and any effort to restrict voting rights. Protect mail-in voting, absentee ballots, and fair access to the ballot for every eligible American.”
