Urge the EPA to regulate toxic PFAS in plastic containers

Urge the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to finally regulate a long-hidden source of PFAS.

PFAS are toxic “forever chemicals” linked to cancers and hormonal damage, even at extremely low levels. They are found in various everyday goods and have been detected in the blood of 97% of the United States population. The federal government has underregulated PFAS for decades, putting communities in harm’s way.

Today, hundreds of millions of plastic containers undergo a fluorination process that creates harmful PFAS that leach into our products and enter our bodies.

We need robust laws and regulations to protect us from all PFAS contamination. Earthjustice, the nation’s leading environmental law organization, calls on the EPA to regulate PFAS formed during fluorination to protect consumers and communities.

A comment period is open until November 29th, and we need your voice. Tell the EPA it’s time to regulate the toxic PFAS byproducts from plastic production.
