Millions of acres of outdoor recreation areas, critical wildlife habitat and important archaeological and cultural sites are at risk. According to The Washington Post, the Trump administration intends to downsize national monuments like Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni-Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon, Ironwood Forest, Chuckwalla, Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante. Public lands like these—protected under a law called the Antiquities Act—are being targeted for drilling and mining by the Trump administration and their corporate allies. Shrinking or eliminating national monuments means cutting off public lands access, destroying wildlife habitat and putting clean water at risk. We must act now to protect these cherished places before they are gone! Sign The Wilderness Society Action Fund’s petition now to tell your representative to stand up for our national monuments and public lands—by letting the Trump administration know how beloved these places are!
