We must act fast. Lawmakers are moving to cut funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), our nation’s most effective response to food insecurity. Cutting SNAP would worsen hunger in America. SNAP works quickly to help families, veterans, seniors and people working for low wages or inconsistent hours keep nutritious food on the table. Feeding America estimates that the funding cuts in the recently passed House bill would result in about 9.5 billion fewer meals for SNAP participants every year. This is urgent: Tell your senators to oppose any cuts to SNAP.
