Thank the Judges Defending Justice and Accountability

Thank you to the federal judges who delivered three critical rulings that protected constitutional rights, government integrity, and basic human dignity from executive overreach.

Judge Brian Murphy blocked the deportation of immigrants to third countries without notice or the opportunity to contest their removal, recognizing that due process is not optional—especially when lives are on the line. His ruling reminded the government that even in immigration enforcement, there are legal limits and basic standards of fairness.

Judge James Boasberg extended a ban on deportation flights carried out under the Alien Enemies Act, stopping the misuse of an antiquated wartime law that threatened to send people away without due process. His decision reinforced the idea that no president can override constitutional protections by invoking fear or declaring emergency powers.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson halted the administration’s attempt to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, calling out efforts to obscure its true intentions as “window dressing” and asserting that the president cannot unilaterally shutter an independent agency created by Congress. Her decision preserved critical consumer protections that have returned billions to working families.

These rulings are more than legal decisions—they are acts of courage and integrity in defense of the public good. At a time when executive power is being stretched to dangerous extremes, these judges showed that the law still matters and the courts remain a vital check on abuse.

Thank you for standing up for justice, for the Constitution, and for the people.
