Thank the Donors Stepping Up to Save Global Aid

When Donald Trump shut down U.S. foreign aid programs, millions of lives were thrown into crisis — from families losing access to clean water to children cut off from life-saving nutrition. But in the face of cruelty and neglect, compassion prevailed.

Private donors and foundations across the country came together to raise more than $125 million to keep critical humanitarian projects running after the Trump administration froze all USAID funding. Working with former USAID experts, these donors helped sustain 80 life-changing programs — providing clean water, fighting hunger and disease, and helping communities recover from poverty and conflict.

This outpouring of generosity shows the best of America — people refusing to let politics destroy progress or abandon those in need. As one donor said, “It was an opportunity to make a big difference right now.”

Even as Trump and his allies celebrate the dismantling of global aid, these donors and advocates are proving that compassion, cooperation, and global solidarity are stronger than cruelty and indifference.

Add your name to thank the donors, aid workers, and advocates who stepped up to keep hope alive — and to stand for a world where America leads with empathy, not abandonment.
