Thank Senate Democrats for Defending Social Security

We thank Senate Democrats for standing up for America’s seniors and holding the Trump administration accountable during the confirmation hearing for Social Security nominee Frank Bisignano.

In the face of mass layoffs, service disruptions, and reckless rhetoric from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Democrats didn’t pull any punches. They demanded real answers about the chaos engulfing the Social Security Administration and pressed Bisignano on whether he would defend the program, its workers, and the millions of Americans who rely on it.

Senators Ron Wyden, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maria Cantwell, Maggie Hassan, Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse, and others made it clear: the American people will not accept attacks on their earned benefits, nor will we tolerate attempts to privatize or undermine Social Security from within.

While Republicans deflected and downplayed DOGE’s actions, Democrats stood firm in defense of transparency, accountability, and compassion for the people our government is meant to serve.

Their vigilance sends a strong message that Social Security is not a “Ponzi scheme” — it’s a promise. And it’s a promise worth protecting.

Add your name to thank Senate Democrats for standing up for Social Security, federal workers, and the dignity of every American who depends on this vital program.
