Thank Preservationists for Standing Up to Trump

Courage like this deserves our thanks.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is refusing to back down in its lawsuit against Donald Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom — even after pressure from the Department of Justice to drop the case.

Despite shifting political arguments and outside pressure, these advocates are standing firm on a simple principle: no president is above the law, and major changes to historic public spaces must follow constitutional and legal requirements.

This lawsuit is about accountability, transparency, and protecting institutions that belong to the American people — not any one individual.

At a time when it would be easier to step aside, they are choosing to stand up.

Add your name to thank the preservationists who are holding the line, defending the rule of law, and standing up to Donald Trump.
