Thank Connecticut for Canceling $30M in Medical Debt

We applaud Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut officials for their compassionate leadership in addressing the burden of medical debt. By partnering with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt, Connecticut has taken a groundbreaking step to erase $30 million in medical debt for nearly 23,000 residents, with plans to eliminate up to $1 billion for 250,000 people in need.

Medical debt can be devastating, often arising from unexpected emergencies and unfair coverage gaps that leave individuals and families struggling. This initiative provides relief and restores financial dignity for thousands of Connecticut residents, setting an example for other states to follow.

We also recognize the incredible work of Undue Medical Debt, which has erased billions of dollars in medical debt nationwide. Their collaboration with state governments represents an innovative and life-changing solution to a widespread issue.

Sign this petition to thank Governor Lamont, Connecticut leaders, and Undue Medical Debt for their commitment to tackling medical debt and providing relief to those most in need. Let’s encourage continued efforts to address this crisis and bring financial security to families across the country.
