Tell Trump: Stop Lying About Climate Science

Donald Trump is once again attacking climate science instead of confronting the climate crisis.

After scientists updated one extreme warming scenario to reflect real-world progress in clean energy, Trump rushed to Truth Social to declare climate scientists were “WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!” But that’s a blatant distortion of what scientists actually said.

Scientists did not say climate change is fake. They did not say global warming is no longer dangerous. They said one worst-case climate projection is now considered less likely because the world has made progress expanding solar, wind, electric vehicles, and other clean technologies.

That is not proof climate science failed. It is proof climate action works.

But the reality remains dire: the world is still on track to blow past the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C target, and current policies could still drive roughly 3°C of warming by 2100 — fueling more deadly heat waves, floods, wildfires, droughts, crop failures, and rising seas. And the administration’s policies are making it worse.

Trump’s misinformation is not harmless. When a president twists scientific findings to score political points, it confuses the public, delays urgently needed action, and protects fossil fuel corporations profiting while communities suffer. Climate scientists are not the enemy. They are warning us about a crisis already devastating our neighborhoods, food systems, oceans, and atmosphere.

Donald Trump must stop misleading the American people about climate science.
