Tell Trump’s NLRB: Don't Let Amazon Off the Hook

Amazon drivers wear Amazon uniforms, drive Amazon-branded vans, and deliver Amazon packages. But when those workers fight for better pay, safer conditions, and a union, Amazon argues they aren't really Amazon employees.

Now Trump’s National Labor Relations Board is retreating in cases that could hold Amazon accountable—and members of Congress are demanding answers.

In Palmdale, California, delivery drivers organized with the Teamsters. Amazon then ended its contract with the company that formally employed them. The NLRB had pursued allegations that Amazon was a joint employer. But under General Counsel Crystal Carey, the agency agreed to settle the case over the union’s objections.

Workers shouldn't have to watch a trillion-dollar corporation hide behind contractors while the federal agency charged with protecting their rights backs away. And we shouldn't have to wait for Congress to force the NLRB to do its job.

Tell NLRB General Counsel Crystal Carey: Stop letting Amazon hide behind contractors. Enforce federal labor law and defend delivery drivers’ right to organize.

For workers, this is not a technical legal fight. It can determine whether they have real power to bargain over pay, dangerous working conditions, schedules, discipline, and job security—or whether responsibility disappears the moment a contractor is swapped out.

If Amazon can control a massive delivery operation, profit from the labor, and then avoid accountability when workers organize, it creates a blueprint for other corporations to do the same. Outsourcing becomes a way to weaken worker protections while preserving corporate control.

That is why this moment matters. Members of Congress are already demanding answers about the NLRB’s handling of these cases. Public pressure can reinforce that scrutiny and make clear that the agency charged with protecting workers must enforce the law independently—even when one of the world’s most powerful corporations pushes back.

Amazon’s size and power should mean greater responsibility, not a free pass.

Add your name and demand that Trump’s NLRB enforce the law instead of letting Amazon off the hook.

The petition to National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Crystal Carey reads:

“Protect Amazon delivery drivers’ right to organize. Vigorously enforce federal labor law, pursue viable cases that could hold Amazon responsible as a joint employer, and do not let contractor arrangements become a loophole for avoiding workers’ rights.”
