Tell Trump: Don't Deport Venezuelan Refugees

Donald Trump is trying to deport thousands of Venezuelan refugees back into danger—at the very same time he is escalating tensions and moving the United States closer to war with Venezuela. 

Recently, Trump announced an end to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for families who fled repression, hunger, and violence in Venezuela. They’re being told they must either live in fear here or be forced back into crisis.

Though a federal judge just blocked Trump’s latest attempt to strip protections, his administration is still pushing to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelan and Haitian migrants. If he eventually succeeds, people who have built lives here—working, paying taxes, raising children—will be torn from their communities and sent straight into harm’s way.

Tell Trump: “Respect the human rights and dignity of Venezuelan refugees. Let their Temporary Protected Status stand.”

Venezuela remains in turmoil, with political repression and shortages of food and medicine threatening lives every day. Deporting refugees into those conditions is already cruel. Doing it while Trump beats the drum of war makes it even more dangerous.

America has always promised refuge to people fleeing violence and persecution. Trump’s attack on Venezuelan refugees betrays that promise—and puts countless lives at risk.
