Tell the Senate: Block Trump & MAGA Attacks on Trans Kids

Trump and MAGA Republicans are escalating a dangerous assault on transgender kids’ lives—and they’re willing to shut down hospitals in the process. The Senate must stop them.

First, the House passed a bill to criminalize gender-affirming care, including puberty blockers. Now, Trump has proposed a rule that would not only block Medicaid dollars from being used to pay for gender-affirming care for kids, but would pull federal funding for hospitals that provide it. 

Trump and MAGA Republicans are blatantly disregarding parental authority, the relationship between patients and doctors, and the lives of children. And they’re holding hospitals hostage to get their way.

The Senate must immediately reject the House’s attack on trans kids and block Trump’s proposed rules, before they become law. 

Tell the Senate: “Block Trump and MAGA attacks on trans kids. Reject any bill or budget that criminalizes gender-affirming care. And pass legislation to ensure Trump can’t force hospitals to choose between serving trans kids and survival.”

Gender-affirming care is evidence-based, medically necessary healthcare supported by every major medical association in the U.S. It saves lives. When trans kids can access care and support, rates of depression and suicide drop. When politicians intervene, kids suffer—and some don’t survive.

Trump’s plan is designed to cause immediate harm. Slashing Medicare and Medicaid coverage would shut down clinics, scare providers out of practice, and leave families with nowhere to turn. For many low-income and rural families, Medicaid is the only way their child can get care. Taking it away is devastating.

Trump and MAGA Republicans have rushed these proposals because fear and misinformation are central to their agenda. They’re willing to sacrifice kids’ lives to score political points.

The Senate still has the power to stop this—by blocking these bills, rejecting funding cuts, and refusing to turn federal healthcare programs into weapons against children. But they won’t act unless we demand it.
