Tell the SEC: Hold Meta Accountable For Facebook Scams

Meta is cashing in on scams — and everyday people are paying the price.

A bombshell Reuters investigation just exposed that up to 10% of Meta’s ad revenue — about $16 billion a year — comes from fraudulent ads on Facebook and Instagram. Fake investments. Phony stores. Identity-theft rings. Millions of people have been ripped off while Meta’s executives watched the profits roll in.

Internal documents show Meta knew its platforms were flooded with scams and still charged those criminals premium ad rates. That means Meta isn’t just allowing fraud — it’s profiting from it, and the Securities and Exchange Commission must act.

Tell Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins: “Investigate Meta’s scam ads and hold Mark Zuckerberg accountable for profiting from fraud.”

If Meta made billions off criminal activity, hid those risks, or misled investors about where its money comes from, that’s a massive securities violation. The SEC can investigate, expose the truth, and hold Mark Zuckerberg and Meta accountable for defrauding the public and deceiving shareholders.

Every day the SEC delays, more people lose their savings and more investors are left in the dark.

Meta’s position is clear: scams are just another revenue stream. We can change that — but only if we act now. Let’s flood the SEC with demands for a full investigation before Meta buries the evidence.

Add your name: Tell the SEC to stop fraud on Facebook and Instagram now.

The petition to Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins reads: “Investigate Meta’s scam ads and hold Marc Zuckerberg accountable for profiting from fraud.”
