Tell the Media: Don’t Echo Trump’s False Econ Claims

Donald Trump is pushing a misleading story about the economy — blaming President Biden for every challenge while ignoring long-term trends, global factors, and corporate price-gouging. And too often, the media repeats his talking points without providing real context.

Even Fox News’ The Five recently challenged Trump’s narrative, noting he’s “struggling to sort out” what’s actually happening. Yet many outlets still frame his claims as legitimate economic analysis instead of calling them what they are: misleading political spin. 

Some on the political right are even pushing false explanations for inflation and housing costs, blaming immigrants or young people rather than the real drivers — corporate profits, supply shortages, and systemic issues.
