Tell the FOP: Retract Your Trump Endorsement

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) recently endorsed Donald Trump for president, but their support couldn't be more misplaced. Just days ago, Trump openly threatened a "violent day" of policing, further fanning the flames of division and violence in our communities.

Law enforcement is supposed to protect and serve, not sow chaos at the behest of a convicted felon.

The FOP’s endorsement of Trump is a blatant act of hypocrisy. How can a police union back someone convicted of multiple felonies, including financial crimes, who has repeatedly called for widespread violence?

This endorsement not only contradicts the fundamental principles of policing but also undermines the integrity of every officer who genuinely believes in upholding justice and public safety.

Tell the Fraternal Order of Police: Retract your Trump endorsement.

Trump's recent rhetoric makes the endorsement even more troubling. He called for "one rough hour — and I mean real rough — the word will get out and it will end immediately, you know? It will end immediately.”

This isn't an isolated incident. During the George Floyd protests in 2020, Trump encouraged police officers to be rough with suspects, promoting violence over accountability. By endorsing Trump, the FOP is aligning itself with a dangerous approach to policing that encourages brutality rather than public safety.

If the FOP has any sense of integrity left, it must immediately retract this endorsement. By supporting Trump, they are embracing a dangerous mindset that disregards the rule of law and the values that police officers swear to uphold.
