Tell the FBI: Stop Blocking Investigation Into ICE Shooting

The killing of an American citizen by an ICE agent demands a straightforward investigation into the truth. But right now, the FBI, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, and Donald Trump are doing everything they can to prevent it.

After ICE agents shot and killed Renée Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota officials moved to investigate, just as they would after any fatal law-enforcement shooting. Then the FBI stepped in, took control of the case, and shut state investigators out. Minnesota authorities say they’ve been denied access to key evidence and interviews needed to determine whether charges are warranted.

When the same federal system that employs the shooter controls the entire investigation, accountability is impossible. Prosecutors can’t act without evidence. Families can’t get answers without oversight. And the public can’t trust a process designed to protect itself.

It’s time to demand the truth. Tell FBI leadership: “Stop blocking Minnesota’s investigation, release all evidence related to Renée Good’s killing, and agree to a full, independent, joint inquiry.”

Reports suggest that the FBI is putting more resources into investigating Renée Good’s activism than the shooting itself. And Justice Department attorneys have resigned rather than stay tied to an investigation they believe is compromised.

Legal experts say the FBI’s refusal to cooperate could permanently block any state case — no matter what the facts show.

No one should be above the law, including federal agents.

Public pressure is what forces change. The FBI cares about credibility, and when enough people demand transparency, walls start to crack.

Add your name now and tell the FBI: stop stonewalling, stop protecting the system, and let the truth come out.

The petition to FBI leadership reads: “Stop blocking Minnesota’s investigation, release all evidence related to Renée Good’s killing, and agree to a full, independent, joint inquiry.”
