America’s farmers are paying a devastating price for a poison that’s already been banned in over 70 other countries. Paraquat is one of the most dangerous pesticides still legal in the United States. Despite overwhelming evidence linking it to Parkinson’s disease, it continues to be sprayed on our fields, exposing farmers, farmworkers, and rural families to a chemical that can permanently damage the brain. The Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to act when a chemical poses unreasonable risks to human health. Paraquat clearly does. Protecting people must come before protecting pesticide profits. Tell the EPA: “Ban paraquat now. Protect farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities from the threat of Parkinson’s disease linked to paraquat.” Thousands of farmers now live with Parkinson’s, a progressive disease that steals movement, speech, and independence. They were exposed to paraquat simply by doing their jobs with a chemical they believed to be safe. This isn’t a mystery or a coincidence. Study after study has shown a strong connection between paraquat exposure and Parkinson’s disease. There is no antidote and no excuse for continued use. Every year this pesticide remains on the market means more exposure, more diagnoses, and more families forced to live with preventable suffering. That means the EPA must act now. The science is clear, the harm is real, and the time to act is now. Tell the EPA to ban paraquat and save lives. The petition to the EPA reads: “Ban paraquat now. Protect farmers, farmworkers, and rural communities from the threat of Parkinson’s disease linked to paraquat.”
