Tell the DOJ: Don’t Shut Down Trump’s Criminal Cases

The Department of Justice’s highest duty is to uphold the rule of law – and that duty doesn’t stop with powerful figures. 

But news reports are now suggesting that Pres. Biden's DOJ is actively considering winding down Trump’s criminal cases before he takes office, effectively putting accountability on hold. 

This would be a grave mistake. The DOJ’s commitment to justice must be unwavering, especially when it comes to those in positions of power.

If Donald Trump wants to interfere with these investigations or pardon himself once he’s in office, let him try. But Biden’s DOJ should continue doing its job by following through with the cases against him and upholding its duty to the American people. 

The rule of law is at the core of American democracy, and failing to enforce it equally erodes public trust and sends a dangerous message. Allowing Trump’s cases to be sidelined would suggest that powerful individuals can evade justice simply by regaining power. 

We demand that the DOJ proceed with its investigations and prosecutions as required, regardless of Trump’s political standing.
