Johnson says Republicans want to "adjust and fix" Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid next year. But seniors, workers, people with disabilities, and families have heard this language before. 

In Washington, “adjusting” earned benefits too often means raising the retirement age, cutting cost-of-living increases, privatizing the program, or forcing people to live on less.

Social Security is not a handout. It is an earned benefit that workers pay into with every paycheck. Millions of Americans rely on it to afford rent, groceries, medication, and basic dignity in retirement. For many seniors and people with disabilities, even a small cut would be devastating.
