Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer just helped Senate Republicans pass Trump's spending bill. Instead of fighting back against Republicans' cruel and destructive government funding bill, Schumer helped advance it—giving Trump and his allies exactly what they want.

Schumer claims this was the only way to prevent a government shutdown, but House Democrats are calling him out for giving away too much. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and others have criticized Senate leadership for letting Trump “dictate terms from the sidelines,” while Rep. Rosa DeLauro pointed out that the bill undermines core Democratic priorities. Other House Democrats have raised alarms about the deep cuts to essential services and the extreme concessions to Trump and Musk, who are already abusing their power to gut key federal programs.

Schumer's vote was not a compromise—it was capitulation. The bill slashes funding for critical programs, boosts Trump’s deportation machine, and hands even more power to Elon Musk and his cronies. The House GOP is pushing extreme, unpopular policies, and instead of stopping them, Schumer is letting them sail through the Senate.
