Tell Missouri Governor to Stop the Execution of Brian Dorsey

We need your help to urge Missouri Governor Mike Parson to spare the life of our community member Brian Dorsey. Even the judge who upheld Brian's death sentence is calling for clemency. Please sign and share this petition to tell Governor Parson that #DeathIsNotJustice for Brian Dorsey. We will deliver the signatures in early April.

Missouri is scheduled to execute Brian on April 9. In remembering the tragic loss of Sarah and Ben Bonnie, we acknowledge the gravity of the situation that led to Brian's conviction for capital murder in Callaway County. We are urging Governor Parson to grant Brian Dorsey clemency based on the following considerations:

1) Brian has NO disciplinary violations over 17 years. This accomplishment is unheard of.

2) Many correctional staff at the Missouri Department of Corrections support clemency for Brian.

3) Brian is innocent of capital murder. He never should have been eligible for the death penalty because he was not capable of forming the intent required for a conviction of first-degree capital murder.

4) Brian received ineffective assistance of counsel. His attorneys were paid an extremely low flat fee to represent him and convinced him to plead guilty before doing ANY investigation into possible defenses or completing a psychological evaluation.

Brian takes FULL accountability and has done his all to atone for his crimes. He has maintained an exceptional institutional record and has worked as the staff barber for prison wardens and guards for over a decade. Correctional officials are pleading the Governor for clemency. Executing Brian will not promote public safety and only create further harm.

Join the growing number of voices and urge Governor Parson: Stop the execution of Brian Dorsey! #ClemencyForBrian
