Tell Legislators: Protect Public Education

The future of public education is under direct threat. EducationWeek reports that Trump’s Project 2025 agenda proposes drastic cuts to federal education funding, jeopardizing the education of millions of low-income and disabled students.

This initiative, linked to the Heritage Foundation and individuals from the first Trump administration, aims to phase out the $16 billion Title I funding program and convert the $13 billion IDEA program into block grants or private school choice offerings.

These cuts would deepen existing disparities and undermine the support systems that our most vulnerable students rely on.

Tell legislators to protect public education now.

The consequences of such cuts would be devastating. States with less tax revenue would struggle without federal support, worsening inequalities in educational opportunities. Schools might also retreat from accountability measures, compromising the quality of education and special education services.

This isn't just about numbers; it's about real lives. Many low-income schools serve predominantly minority populations. Cutting federal support could exacerbate inequalities in education, further marginalizing these communities. Reducing services for students with disabilities risks sidelining those who need the most support.

We've seen the impact of increased federal investment in education—better student outcomes and stronger communities. Rolling back these gains now would be a grave mistake.

Tell legislators to protect public education from harmful cuts.
