Tell Israel: Stop Illegal Attacks on UN Relief Agency

Israel has crossed a dangerous line. Israeli forces just bulldozed buildings belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem, destroying protected UN premises and escalating an unprecedented assault on humanitarian aid.

UNRWA facilities are protected civilian infrastructure. They provide food, healthcare, education, and shelter to Palestinian refugees who depend on them to survive. This was a deliberate act that violates international law and puts civilian lives at risk.

By demolishing UN buildings, Israel is sending a chilling message: no humanitarian space is safe. Not schools. Not clinics. Not UN compounds flying the flag meant to protect civilians.

Tell Israeli leaders: “Stop the assault on humanitarian aid and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Respect international law and the United Nations.”

These demolitions come as Israel intensifies efforts to shut down UNRWA entirely. UN officials have warned that Israel’s actions to block relief could trigger referral to the International Court of Justice. European governments have already condemned the demolitions and urged Israel to halt this escalation. Yet the destruction continues.

The consequences are immediate. Refugee families lose essential services overnight. Aid workers are blocked from doing their jobs. And a dangerous precedent is set that threatens humanitarian operations everywhere.

Israel must act now. We are calling on the government of Israel to immediately halt demolitions, restore and rebuild the destroyed UNRWA buildings, guarantee humanitarian access, and respect the legal protections afforded to United Nations facilities.

Public pressure matters. Add your name to urge Israel to stop the assault on humanitarian aid and the United Nations.

The petition to Israeli leaders reads: “Stop the assault on humanitarian aid and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Respect international law and the United Nations.”
