Tell ICE: Respect Due Process. Restore Bond Hearings.

The Trump administration just launched a cruel new assault on immigrant rights: no more bond hearings for undocumented people in ICE detention. This dangerous policy means thousands could be jailed indefinitely—without due process or any chance to plead their case.

According to The Washington Post, ICE is now enforcing a sweeping “no bond” rule nationwide. USA Today confirms it’s already separating families and packing detention centers. Reuters exposed the internal memo: Trump’s team wants mass detention, no questions asked.

This is unconstitutional. It's inhumane. It’s an incredible waste of money. And we won’t stand for it.

Tell ICE: “Respect the constitution and the rule of law. Reverse ICE’s blanket ‘no bond’ policy to ensure every detainee receives the due process they deserve.”

Acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons can stop this travesty now. He has the power to reinstate bond hearings and restore a shred of fairness to our broken system. But he won’t act unless we raise our voices—loudly and immediately.

People fleeing violence and poverty deserve a fair hearing, not indefinite jail in facilities already known for abuse and neglect. ICE detention conditions are worsening under the latest crackdowns. Denying bond hearings violates long-standing legal precedent and basic human rights, and it won’t stop here. If a blanket policy is allowed to stand here, it could one day apply to all of us.

And if the violation of human rights wasn’t bad enough, conservatives should be appalled at the budget-busting cost of indefinite jail time for an ever-growing number of people.

We must act now. Congress is continuing to revisit immigration policy, and pressure is building. A wave of public outrage can move lawmakers and force ICE to back down.

Sign the petition to demand ICE immediately reverse its no-bond policy. Demand justice, demand fairness, demand action. If we stay silent, due process dies. Let’s show ICE—and the Trump administration—that we won’t let that happen.

The petition to ICE Director Todd M. Lyons reads: “Respect the constitution and the rule of law. Reverse ICE’s blanket ‘no bond’ policy to ensure every detainee receives the due process they deserve.”
