Tell FIFA: Don’t Let ICE Turn the World Cup Into a Trap

The World Cup starts in days — and immigrant fans, workers, journalists, and families are still waiting for one basic guarantee: safety.

No one should have to fear that going to a match, working a stadium shift, riding public transit, visiting a fan zone, or covering the tournament could put them in ICE’s crosshairs.

The World Cup is supposed to unite the world. It must not become a deportation trap.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and U.S. host city officials must act right now. They must publicly bar immigration enforcement from World Cup spaces, protect workers, create firewalls between event safety and ICE, and make clear that everyone can participate without fear.

Tell FIFA and U.S. host cities: Protect immigrant fans, workers, journalists, and communities before kickoff.

Immigrant workers make this tournament possible — in stadiums, hotels, transit systems, restaurants, fan zones, and neighborhoods across host cities. They deserve protection, not intimidation.

If FIFA wants to sell this as a global celebration, it has to defend the people who make it happen.

That means no raids at stadiums. No ICE traps near fan zones. No enforcement sweeps at transit hubs, hotels, worker sites, media areas, or official events. No racial profiling. No turning public safety into deportation infrastructure.

The world is watching. FIFA and host cities cannot hide behind vague promises while immigrant communities are left exposed.

Add your name now and demand FIFA and U.S. host cities keep ICE out of the World Cup.

The petition to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and U.S. host city officials reads:

“Guarantee that the World Cup will not become an immigration enforcement trap. Bar immigration raids and enforcement actions at stadiums, fan zones, transit hubs, hotels, worker sites, media areas, and official events. Protect immigrant fans, workers, journalists, and local communities from racial profiling, detention, and intimidation, and ensure public safety operations are not used to facilitate deportations.”
