Tell Donald Trump: Don’t Undermine Climate Science

Recent news reports indicate that the Trump team is targeting upcoming climate research from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and other federal agencies in an attempt to undermine climate progress. The National Climate Assessment — due out in 2026 or 2027 is being targeted by Trump’s aides as a way to elevate the lies of climate science denialists, according to the report in E & E News.

Sign the petition to tell Donald Trump and his aides not to interfere with climate research.

This interference would undermine the integrity of science and the safety and security of our nation. NOAA’s scientists are world-renowned for their research on greenhouse gas emissions, weather prediction, and atmospheric science. Their work forms the foundation for understanding climate risks, from rising sea levels to intensifying hurricanes. Undermining this taxpayer-funded research jeopardizes the ability of American communities to prepare for and respond to natural disasters, threatening lives and livelihoods across the country.

Climate change should not be a partisan issue—it is a global challenge that demands evidence-based solutions. Suppressing or skewing data to align with political agendas will not change the reality of rising temperatures, melting polar ice, and extreme weather events.

Americans expect their leaders to act in the nation’s best interest, not to politicize science for imagined short-term gain. The consequences of silencing NOAA’s research will reverberate far beyond the Trump Administration, leaving a legacy of missed opportunities and preventable harm.

Please sign the petition to call on Donald Trump to respect the independence of scientific institutions and let scientists do their jobs. Climate research is not a “crown jewel” to be dismantled—it is a critical tool for ensuring a safe and prosperous future for all Americans.
