Tell Congress to protect the North Atlantic right whale!

We are facing a critical moment in the fight to protect the North Atlantic right whale from extinction. With fewer than 350 remaining, urgent action is needed to prevent the loss of this species.

The number of right whale deaths and serious injuries has increased significantly, prompting the federal government to declare an Unusual Mortality Event. This has already been a terrible year for whales, with 23 dead whales found along the East Coast since early December 2022. 

In February, a 20-year-old male right whale, 43 feet long, was struck and killed by a vessel off Virginia Beach. 

In 2022, the Right Whale Coexistence Act was introduced, this crucial legislation would have provided financial assistance for projects designed to reduce the harmful effects of human activities on North Atlantic right whales. We cannot wait any longer to pass legislation and protect this endangered species from further harm.
