Tell Congress to Pass More Funds for FEMA, ASAP

When it rains, it pours, as they say. America is still reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, which killed over 200 people and carved a swathe of destruction across the South. Hot on its heels is Hurricane Milton, which escalated to a Category 5 hurricane with shocking speed and is now barreling towards Florida.

FEMA is going to have its work cut out for it — but House Republicans won’t lift a finger to make sure that the emergency response agency has the funds and resources it needs to deal with yet another giant hurricane.

Tell Congress to pass more funds for FEMA, ASAP!

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have called on Speaker Johnson to end Congress’ recess early to pass more emergency funding for FEMA as Hurricane Milton approaches.
"Congress must show that it can still deliver for the American people in their hour of greatest need," says Florida Democrat Jared Moskowitz. But Johnson has made it clear that’s not happening.

To make matters worse, Congress hasn’t even passed supplemental funding for other disasters that occurred earlier in th year, much to the frustration of members in communities recovering from floods, fires and other major events. It’s time for Johnson and the GOP to put their political gamesmanship aside and take care of the American people in their time of need.

Tell the House GOP to get back to work and pass more funding for FEMA before Hurricane Milton hits!
