Tell Congress: Tax Companies for Out-of-Control CEO Pay

Corporate greed is off the charts—and workers are paying the price. But Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Rashida Tlaib have introduced a bill to level the playing field.

Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Rashida Tlaib just introduced the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act. The idea is simple: if corporations can shower executives with obscene salaries and stock awards, then they can afford to pay a higher tax rate. Companies that exploit workers while enriching their CEOs will finally face real consequences.

At a time when families are stretched thin by rising rents, grocery bills, and healthcare costs, CEOs are cashing in record-breaking pay packages worth hundreds of times what their employees make. It’s time to change that.

Tell Congress: “Pass the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act. Level the playing field for working people.”

Reports show some of America’s largest employers—like retailers and fast-food chains—pay poverty wages while handing their executives millions. Google’s CEO made over $200 million in a single year. Meanwhile, the average worker at many of these companies struggles to make rent.

It’s inequality on steroids—and it won’t change unless Congress acts.

Passing this bill would rewrite the incentives. If CEOs rake in hundreds of times more than their employees, their companies will pay extra taxes. If corporations want to avoid those penalties, they’ll have to start lifting wages instead of padding executive paychecks. It’s a powerful tool to rein in greed and build an economy that works for everyone, not just the boardroom elite.

Tell Congress: Pass the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act and make corporations pay their fair share. No more excuses, no more handouts for greed. Sign today and demand action.

The petition to Congress reads: “Pass the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act. Level the playing field for working people.”
