A missile slammed into a girls’ elementary school in Minab, Iran — killing more than 160 children. Now the Pentagon says it’s “investigating.” That’s not enough. The strike hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh school during the opening phase of the U.S.–Israeli air campaign targeting Iran. The building collapsed while students were inside, turning a classroom into a mass grave. Reports say most of the victims were girls between 7 and 12 years old. Weeks later, the public still has no answers. Who authorized the strike? What intelligence justified it? Were safeguards meant to protect civilians ignored? Tell Congress: “Subpoena Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and launch a full investigation into the Minab school strike and the killing of more than 160 children. Families deserve the truth — and accountability cannot wait.” Democratic senators just sent a letter demanding answers from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. They want to know whether U.S. forces or weapons were involved — and how a school full of children could have been hit during the operation. But the desire for truth should be bipartisan. Republicans on the House and Senate Armed Services Committees must join Democrats to subpoena Hegseth, demand classified briefings, and force the Pentagon to release the facts about what happened in Minab. If the United States expects the world to respect the laws of war, it must investigate itself when civilians — especially children — are killed. And if the Pentagon refuses to tell the truth on its own, then Congress must demand it. The petition to Congress reads: “Subpoena Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and launch a full investigation into the Minab school strike and the killing of more than 160 children. Families deserve the truth — and accountability cannot wait.”
