Tell Congress: Stop Trump’s Vigilante Force

Donald Trump just took steps to build his own domestic shadow army.

In a chilling executive order, Trump directed the Pentagon to create a portal for civilians to join soldiers in carrying out Trump’s will. That means untrained, unaccountable recruits—handpicked from MAGA circles or extremist militias—could be deputized to “restore order” alongside the National Guard.

Trump is also ordering every state’s National Guard to form rapid reaction units to crack down on protests. Combine that with a vigilante recruitment portal, and you get a federally backed, civilian-led strike force ready to crush dissent.

It’s authoritarianism in the making—and Congress must stop it before it gets worse.

Tell Congress: “Don’t let Trump build a shadow army of vigilantes to patrol our streets. Block funding now and take action to protect the Posse Comitatus Act and our civil rights now.”

Trump’s vigilante recruitment portal isn’t live yet. That means there’s still time to kill it. Congress can block funding, hold emergency hearings, and pass legislation to shut this plan down. But the window is closing fast. 

The threat is real: unchecked civilian enforcers, marching with the military, targeting communities Trump deems unruly. Protesters. Journalists. Anyone who resists.

We’ve seen where this road leads. We cannot let it happen here.
