Tell Congress: Stop Trump’s Anti-Trans Passport Rule

Donald Trump just took a sledgehammer to trans rights — and the Supreme Court let him.

In a 5–4 ruling, the Court upheld Trump’s cruel order forcing all U.S. passports to match a person’s original birth certificate. That means trans, nonbinary, and intersex Americans can no longer have passports that reflect who they are.

Trump’s State Department is already preparing to revoke existing passports and deny new ones that don’t comply. For thousands of Americans, this means losing the right to travel, work, or simply live safely as themselves. We have to fight back.

Tell Congress: “Overturn Trump’s anti-trans passport rule and protect every American’s right to identity and dignity.”

This is government-sanctioned cruelty. Trump’s policy forces trans people to be outed every time they show ID — and traps those born in states that refuse to amend birth certificates in lives of forced misidentification. It’s a deliberate attempt to make trans people disappear.

Congress can stop it. Lawmakers must pass emergency legislation guaranteeing every American the right to accurate identification and banning gender discrimination in federal documents.

But Trump’s rule could take effect any day — and Congress will only act if we flood them with public outrage now.

Add your name to demand Congress protect every American’s right to identity and dignity.

The petition to Congress reads: “Overturn Trump’s anti-trans passport rule and protect every American’s right to identity and dignity.”
