Tell Congress: Stop Trump from Destroying New Climate Goals

President Biden just announced a new, groundbreaking commitment to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by more than 60 percent by 2035—a goal that reflects the urgency of addressing the climate crisis. As the Biden Administration works to solidify this ambitious target, we must ensure it is protected from any future attempts to undermine it by Donald Trump.

President Biden’s new emissions target positions the United States as a global leader in the fight against climate change and puts the US on track to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions economy-wide by 2050. Achieving this goal will protect the planet and all who share it from the devastating impacts of extreme weather while creating good jobs and empowering communities.

However–recent history has shown how fragile climate progress can be. During his first term, Donald Trump systematically rolled back environmental protections, withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Agreement, and enriched fossil fuel interests at the expense of our health and the livability of our communities. The risks to this bold new plan from President Biden—and our collective future—are immense.
