Tell Congress: Stop Fossil Fuel Giveaways—Fund Our Future

Every year, taxpayers are forced to bankroll Big Oil and Gas to the tune of over $35 billion. These subsidies have more than doubled since 2017, even as climate disasters intensify and working families struggle to afford the basics.

Now Congress faces a deadline to pass a funding bill and avoid a government shutdown. Will lawmakers keep pouring our money into fossil fuel subsidies, or will they invest in the things that actually make our lives better—like good schools, affordable healthcare, and job training for a clean energy future?

It’s time to demand Congress put our priorities ahead of fossil fuel profits and climate destruction.

Tell Congress: “End fossil fuel subsidies and giveaways. Fund a clean, healthy future for all of us instead.”

Subsidies aren’t about “energy security.” They’re corporate welfare for polluters who are already posting record profits.

Reports from Truthout and The Guardian show that these handouts fuel climate chaos while starving critical programs of resources. Food & Water Watch makes it plain: cutting subsidies could free billions for the services families rely on every day.

This is the choice before Congress: polluters or people. If fossil fuel companies keep winning, communities lose—through dirtier air, higher costs, and fewer opportunities. But if we end these handouts now, we can reinvest in public goods that uplift everyone.

Congress must pass a funding bill that reflects our values—not Big Oil’s wish list. Tell your representative and senators: no more fossil fuel subsidies. Redirect our tax dollars to schools, healthcare, and job training—not corporate polluters.

Sign now and demand Congress put people and the planet first in this funding vote.

The petition to Congress reads: “End fossil fuel subsidies and giveaways. Fund a clean, healthy future for all of us instead.”
