Tell Congress: Reject Rubio's Imperialist Worldview

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered what foreign policy experts call "one of the most revisionist and imperialist speeches" ever made by a senior American official—openly celebrating Western colonialism and calling for a return to "the West's age of dominance."

At the Munich Security Conference, Rubio lamented the decline of "great Western empires," suggested anti-colonial independence movements were a mistake, and received a standing ovation from European elites. This came as the Trump administration violates international law by kidnapping Venezuela's president and excludes Latin America from global discussions while expanding the Monroe Doctrine.

Analysts warn this is imperialism in the open. Geopolitical expert Arnaud Bertrand notes Rubio is "openly saying that the whole post-colonial order was a mistake and calling on Europe to share the spoils of building a new one."

Demand Congress formally censure Marco Rubio's imperialist vision and recommit America to international law, sovereign equality, and multilateral cooperation—not 19th-century colonialism.
