Tell Congress: Protect birthright citizenship

With the courts siding against him, we expect Trump to ramp up his attacks on birthright citizenship through Congress – using every ounce of political pressure he has to turn a constitutional right into a weapon of division.

That means millions of Americans are left in limbo, wondering if their place in the only home they’ve ever known could be stripped away by this administration. Citizenship isn’t a bargaining chip or a pawn in Trump’s political games, it’s a right – and it’s time for Congress to act like it.

The 14th Amendment is clear – and legal experts say Trump would need to pass a constitutional amendment to overrule it. But Trump and his cronies in Congress know they can’t do that, so they’re desperately searching for any way around our checks and balances.

Congress must step up and REFUSE to help Trump shred our Constitution. We need to make it clear that Trump's attacks on birthright citizenship hurt people in every state and every congressional district. Members of Congress can either stick up for their constituents or voters will replace them with someone who will.
