Tell Congress: Pass Emergency Hurricane Aid Funding

Hurricane Milton is closing in on Florida as a powerful Category 4 storm, with sustained winds exceeding 130 mph. This storm could bring devastating flooding and destruction to countless communities, many of which are still reeling from Hurricane Helene. 

Yet, Congress has failed to pass emergency disaster relief funding, leaving millions of Americans vulnerable.

The decision to bring the House back into session to vote on this vital funding rests solely with Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. His refusal to act could have life-or-death consequences for those in Milton's path.

Lawmakers, including Reps. Marcy Kaptur and Bill Johnson, have called for immediate action, writing, “Congress must act to deliver the resources our communities so desperately need.” 

But Republicans are refusing to return to D.C., even as they criticize FEMA and the Biden-Harris administration for disaster response challenges.
