Tell Congress: Let Cancer Victims Hold Monsanto Accountable

The Supreme Court just handed Monsanto's parent company a gift — and cancer victims could pay the price.

People who developed cancer after using Roundup have fought for years to hold Monsanto, and now Bayer, accountable, arguing that the company failed to warn them about serious health risks. Now the Court's ruling could make it harder for people harmed by toxic pesticides to sue when companies point to federal labeling rules to escape responsibility.

This ruling is terrible for public health. Unsurprisingly, the Trump administration has been helping the pesticide giant build this legal shield for months – encouraging the Supreme Court to take up the case and to side with Monsanto.

We need Congress to act now. Tell them to stop Big Pesticide from dodging accountability.

No cancer victim should be locked out of court because Big Pesticide found a loophole. Farmworkers, groundskeepers, gardeners, rural families, and consumers deserve the right to seek justice when toxic chemicals devastate their lives.

If Congress fails to act, this ruling could become a roadmap for pesticide companies: fight warning labels, point to federal rules, and then claim immunity when people say they were harmed.

Congress can restore a clear path to justice for people harmed by toxic pesticides and make sure pesticide manufacturers cannot use federal law as a shield from responsibility.

Add your name now and demand that Congress stop Big Pesticide from getting immunity. Cancer victims deserve their day in court.

The petition to Congress reads: "Make sure people harmed by toxic pesticides can sue the companies responsible. Stop pesticide manufacturers from hiding behind federal labeling rules and dodging accountability."
