The Fourth of July is over. Trump’s grift is not.

His Great American State Fair is still running on the National Mall — still eating up public space, still drawing almost non-existent crowds, and still raising one big question: who got paid for this?

America’s 250th anniversary should have been a once-in-a-generation celebration of our history, our values, and the progress we still have to make. It should have honored workers, veterans, teachers, families, immigrants, civil rights leaders, public servants, and the communities that built this country.

Instead, Trump made it about himself and cashed in big.

Tell Congress: Investigate Trump’s 250th anniversary grift now. Make sure future public holidays can’t be corrupted by Trump and his cronies.

Trump and MAGA elites keep telling us there’s no money for food aid, housing, healthcare, childcare, schools, veterans, disaster relief, museums, libraries, or civic education. But somehow Trump’s allies found the money for a less-than-half-full circus on the National Mall. It’s corruption with bunting.

The public deserves answers. Which vendors, consultants, donors, corporate sponsors, political insiders, and Trump-connected organizations cashed in? Who misled donors? Who wasted public resources? How can we stop our tax dollars from bankrolling more of Trump’s partisan vanity projects?

A real 250th anniversary celebration could have funded local history projects, supported public museums, honored veterans, invested in schools, and helped Americans tell the full story of this country — the good, the painful, and the unfinished.

Instead, Trump gave us empty chairs, ego, and another bill for the rest of us to question.
