This is an abuse of power, and it cannot go unchecked. The House Committee on Homeland Security and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs have direct oversight over the Noem’s DHS. Public pressure can push these committees to open a formal investigation into her misuse of government resources — but only if enough of us speak out now.

Reports from The Washington Post and CNN confirm that Noem’s office coordinated with TSA and airport media networks to air the video while federal workers went unpaid. 

Several airports have since pulled it, calling it “inappropriate” and “partisan propaganda,” but the production of the video alone broke the law.

If we let this slide, politicians will keep turning public platforms into campaign billboards and undermining the distinction between government and party. Congress must make it clear: the Hatch Act applies to everyone, even the president’s chief propagandists.
