It’s bad enough that Donald Trump is defiling the White House lawn with a UFC cage match for his birthday. But now, his administration is reportedly trying to fill the seats with American soldiers serving as uniformed props. The Defense Department reportedly sought junior enlisted personnel and junior officers to attend the event in dress uniform — without plans to cover their travel or lodging. That means service members could be asked to help stage Trump’s birthday show on their own dime. And it gets worse. Trump has disclosed buying stock in UFC’s parent company after the tournament was announced. That raises a glaring question: is Trump using the military and the White House to promote a spectacle tied to his own financial interests? Tell Congress: Investigate the Pentagon’s role in recruiting service members for Trump’s UFC birthday event and examine Trump’s financial conflict involving TKO Group Holdings. Service members swear an oath to the Constitution — not to Donald Trump’s ego, birthday party, or stock portfolio. They should never be pressured into serving as crowd filler for a president’s vanity event. If Trump wants a UFC party, he can throw it himself, on his own property. He must not be allowed to turn the U.S. military into a costume department for his personal brand. Add your name now and demand Congress investigate Trump’s UFC troop stunt. The petition to Congress reads: “Investigate the Pentagon’s role in recruiting service members for Trump’s UFC birthday event, determine whether troops were pressured or exploited, examine Trump’s financial conflict involving TKO Group Holdings, and stop any misuse of the U.S. military for personal or political spectacle.”
