Families may find fewer gifts under the tree this year thanks to Trump’s tariffs. 

Trump’s war on Christmas is driving up the cost of toys, electronics, clothes, decorations, and even Christmas trees. These are taxes on working families, not foreign governments. And this year, they’re pushing millions to the breaking point.

Congress can fix this. Lawmakers can suspend Trump’s tariffs, hold emergency hearings, and block future holiday price spikes. Rolling back these tariffs could immediately reduce costs on toys, electronics, clothing, and décor — helping families afford the holidays and giving Main Street a fighting chance.

Trump’s tariffs have already sent toy prices soaring. Trees, décor, and kids’ gifts are now 10–25% more expensive because of Trump. 

Trump shrugs it off, saying families can simply buy fewer toys. But families aren’t choosing between “two dolls or 30.” They’re choosing between paying rent and giving their kids something to smile about. These tariffs function as a direct holiday tax on working people.

And small businesses — already stretched thin — are bearing the brunt. Holiday shops rely on December sales to survive. Instead, they’re paying massive tariff bills that wipe out their profits. Many are fearing they won’t last beyond this season.

We can’t let Trump’s political games make the season impossible for millions of families. Kids deserve gifts. Parents deserve a break. Small businesses deserve to survive.
