Tell CNN: Stop Inviting Known Liars Onto Your Programs

CNN keeps giving airtime to people who use interviews as a platform for misinformation, deflection, and bullying.

On Sunday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared on CNN and clashed with Dana Bash while pushing discredited claims about vaccines, autism, COVID, and public health. Bash challenged him, but the interview still handed him a national stage to spread confusion and then posture as a victim when pressed on the facts.

Later in the program, Jim Jordan used a CNN appearance the same way: dodging accountability, talking over the host, and turning serious questions into cable-news combat. CNN knows exactly what these guests do when cameras turn on. Yet the network keeps inviting them back.

Tell CNN CEO Mark Thompson and CNN leadership: stop rewarding bad-faith guests who lie, shout over hosts, and use your programs to spread misinformation.

Good journalism challenges powerful people. But when a guest has a long public record of lying, bullying, or refusing basic facts, booking them again and again does not inform viewers. It turns journalism into spectacle.

The pattern is predictable. The guest lies. The host pushes back. The guest talks over them. Supporters clip the confrontation and call it a win. Meanwhile, viewers who came for accurate information are left watching chaos and lies instead of a serious discussion.

CNN has a responsibility to its audience. That means elevating credible experts, impacted people, and public officials willing to answer real questions. And if the network chooses to interview repeat offenders, it should enforce clear rules: real-time fact-checking, no steamrolling hosts, and no return invitations for guests who knowingly spread misinformation.
