Tell CNN: Islamophobia Doesn't Belong on TV

Scott Jennings, a Republican operative and CNN commentator, is coming under fire for accusing Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of being a "public relations agent for Hamas."

Jennings told that vicious lie despite the fact that Omar has forcefully and repeatedly denounced Hamas' October 7, 2023 terrorist attack on Israel.

Congresswoman Omar has already received countless death threats. Jennings' hateful and irresponsible comments will only further endanger Omar, her family, and other Muslims across the United States.

Democratic lawmakers and progressive activists are pushing back on Jennings' Islamophobic comments.

“Blatant Islamophobia has no place in our society — let alone on primetime TV," said Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. "It’s dangerous, unacceptable, and cannot be normalized."

"Scott Jennings is reverting to one of the oldest Islamophobic tropes in the book, which is to allege that Muslim Americans are secretly terrorist sympathizers," said Democratic strategist Waleed Shahid. "People have been fired from CNN for much less," he added.
