Civil rights activist Rev. William Barber was unfairly denied accommodation for his medical condition at an AMC Theater, resulting in a call to the police. Rev. Barber has a medical condition that prevents him from sitting in a regular chair due to hip pain, and he uses two canes for mobility. Rev. Barber carries a special chair that allows him to sit comfortably wherever he goes, and he tried to use it in the handicapped section of the theater. However, theater staff denied him this accommodation. While AMC has issued an apology, there is an urgent need for concrete steps to ensure accessibility in all AMC theaters across the nation. Please add your name to this petition to call on AMC Theaters to embrace accessibility as a fundamental value and adopt lasting changes that benefit everyone.
