ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s show indefinitely after pressure from a major broadcaster group and federal regulator, following his remarks about the killing of Charlie Kirk. This sets a dangerous precedent: silencing speech because it offends powerful voices. 

Late-night hosts—and all media figures—should not have to weigh every comment for political safety. Creative expression and commentary must be protected, not punished when it challenges authority or critiques power.
